Mama Birds Ice Cream Catering FAQ

1. What do you provide with ice cream catering?2026-09-16T15:15:38+00:00

We provide full-service ice cream catering, including a professional server to scoop on-site and all the paper products needed for service. We bring the cups, napkins, spoons, ice cream….. and plenty of smiles!

You simply choose your flavors and enjoy.

2. When should I serve ice cream at my wedding?2026-09-16T15:22:48+00:00

There are so many fun ways to work ice cream into your wedding day! Some of our favorites include serving it:

• During cocktail hour as a fun experience for guests
• About 30 minutes after dinner as your dessert option
• As a late-night treat during your reception or after-party

Ice cream is also a great way to create an interactive moment for guests while giving them something memorable to enjoy together. Your wedding coordinator can help you with picking the perfect placement! We can also advise.

3. What do I need to consider when booking an ice cream cart for on-site scooping?2026-09-16T15:47:37+00:00

Our ice cream carts require access to a standard 110V electrical outlet. For outdoor events where power is not easily accessible, we can provide a quiet generator.

Because our carts are wider than a standard doorway, we also need a double-door entrance or another accessible route into your venue. A smooth, paved path is best for moving the cart into place.

If you’re unsure whether your venue can accommodate one of our carts, just ask! We’re happy to help determine the best setup for your event.

Here are some venues we have had successful setups (Do not fret there might be some missing just ask!):

Bakery 105 (Wilmington NC), The Birdsong Chapel (Princeton NC), The Brad Ford, The Carolina Barn, Carolina Manor House (Wake Forest), Carrolock Farms, The Carriage House, Chateau Des Fleures, The Colonnade at Revolution Mill (Greensboro), Cornealius Properties, Daniels Ridge, Donovans Manor, First and Main (Knightdale), The Green House at Arrows Farms (Lillington NC), The Hartwood Weddings (Selma NC), High Rock Farms (Oxford), Lavender Oaks Farm (Chapel Hill), Leslie-Alford Mims House, The Little Chapel at Haven Ridge (Winston Salem), Maywood Hall and Garden (Raleigh NC) , The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve (Raleigh), Montague Lake Pavilion, The Oaks at Salem, The Palm Venue, Pinehill Pavillion, Rose Hill Estate, The Sutherland Estate (Wake Forest NC), The Upchurch (Cary NC), The Victorian, Villa Mirabela (Fayetteville NC), Whispering Pines (Henderson NC), 143 Maxwell (Fayeteville NC).

Sodabox Catering FAQ

1. What is a dirty soda bar?2026-09-16T16:37:09+00:00

A dirty soda bar takes familiar sodas and turns them into made-to-order specialty drinks using flavored syrups, fresh fruit, citrus, purees, creams and other fun additions.

At SodaBox, guests choose from a curated menu built around the sodas they already know and love to help take the guesswork out of hosting, and our Sodaristas make each drink fresh at the bar.

It feels interactive, personalized and a little unexpected… which is exactly why guests remember it.

We also offer signature drinks…..customization is our specialty, of course! And for weddings booked at least eight weeks in advance, we’ll invite you to a tasting at our local shop so you can sample drinks and choose your favorite.

2. What makes SodaBox different from a traditional beverage caterer?2026-09-16T16:46:43+00:00

We don’t just drop off drinks.

SodaBox creates an interactive beverage experience for your event. Our team handles setup, made-to-order service and breakdown while engaging with your guests throughout service.

The drinks matter but so do the details behind the bar: guest flow, speed, presentation, hospitality and making sure the experience feels like it truly belongs at your event.

We even had our rolling bar cart designed specifically with service efficiency in mind, so it looks polished while helping our Sodaristas keep drinks moving.

And then there are the little things you shouldn’t have to think about. Like pebble ice. Yes, the really good ice. How much ice do you need for 150 guests on a 90-degree day? You probably don’t know……..and you shouldn’t have to.

We do.

Most guests won’t see all the planning happening behind the scenes. They’ll just know the bar looks great, the drinks keep moving and the whole experience feels like it was made for the occasion.

3. Can SodaBox handle large events?2026-09-16T16:58:28+00:00

Yes. SodaBox is designed for event service.

We cater everything from private celebrations and weddings around Raleigh NC to corporate, University and large community events.

Our team plans staffing, menu selection, setup and service around your guest count so the beverage bar can keep moving while still feeling personal.

Depending on the type and size of your event, we may recommend a specific service window or setup…….like bringing in our full rolling bar to make sure everything flows smoothly.

And don’t worry if you’re not a corporate planner or professional event coordinator. Most people don’t know how long it takes to serve 200 guests, how many Sodaristas they need or which setup will work best for their space. You don’t have to we do. We’ll help you make those decisions based on what we’ve learned from serving real events.

Our experience includes employee appreciation events for 100+ guests, weddings throughout the Triangle and North Carolina mountains, youth church gatherings, school sporting events with thousands of attendees, community events like Friday Night on White, University alumni welcome partys, college summer intern kickoffs, multi-day grand openings and plenty more.

Big crowd or intimate gathering, our goal is the same: keep the drinks moving, make your guests feel taken care of and make hosting easier for you.
