From ‘what if’ to unforgettable experiences
From Corporate Exit to Community Experience
After fifteen years in corporate America, an unexpected layoff became the moment everything shifted. Instead of stepping back into the same routine, it opened the door to building something more personal and purpose-driven. What began as a leap of faith grew into a brand centered on hospitality, creativity, and genuine connection. At its heart, this journey is about turning everyday gatherings into moments people truly remember.
Fifteen years in corporate America taught me a lot — about people, pressure, and performance. But when restructuring took my job, it also handed me something I didn’t expect: a door. And once it opened, I knew I couldn’t walk back into the same hallway.
I didn’t want to trade one corporation for another. My husband and I have always had that entrepreneurial itch — the kind that shows up in late-night “what if…” conversations and Sunday drives where you’re dreaming out loud. Losing my job didn’t feel like the end. It felt like the sign we’d been waiting for: dig in, build something real, and find our own way.
That’s when we found Mama Birds Ice Cream — small-batch, custom flavors, and the kind of joy that belongs at the center of community gatherings. It was the perfect match for what I value most: authenticity, creativity, and service. Watching people light up over a scoop of their favorite flavor reminded me that the best moments in life aren’t rushed — they’re shared. We fell in love with hospitality, and more than that, with the power of bringing people together.
Not long after, we were introduced to Launch Wake Forest through social media (hi, Brad!) — and that experience helped us take a “cute little idea” and turn it into something bigger: a brand built for every season, every celebration, and every kind of gathering.
That’s how Sips & Scoops was born.
First came hot chocolate catering — warm, cozy, and perfect for holiday parties and end-of-year corporate events. And honestly? We weren’t surprised when our loyal clients jumped right in. They didn’t just book us — they brought us into their most meaningful moments. The kind of events where memories are being made in real time.
Then summer hit — graduations, employee appreciation days, neighborhood celebrations — and we noticed something: people wanted more than a drink. They wanted a curated beverage experience. Something fun, thoughtful, and inclusive — something everyone could enjoy. That’s when we leaned all the way into what we do best: turning “refreshments” into a moment. And it’s also what led us to an exciting partnership with SodaBox — because the future of dirty sodas isn’t just a trend… it’s a whole experience waiting to happen.
Today, that’s exactly what we create.
My vision is still the same at the core: to live with purpose, rooted in authenticity, creativity, and service. To build meaningful connections, lead with gratitude, and create opportunities that empower my family and community. I believe resilience and curiosity can turn challenges into growth — and if I’m lucky, the legacy I leave behind will look like kindness, impact, and innovation… served one joyful sip (and scoop) at a time.
What’s next: brand activations.
Think of it as a full brand-immersion experience — where your event doesn’t just have treats and drinks… it becomes a vibe people talk about afterward. Through curated brand partnerships (like Mama Birds Ice Cream + SodaBox), we bring together signature sips, scoops, styling, and storytelling to create an interactive, photo-worthy, guest-loved moment that feels intentional, elevated, and unforgettable.
